I have a 2 year old Goldendoodle. For the first year and a half, he never made a peep...not when anyone rang the doorbell, not when he saw a cat, not when he saw people outside the fence...NEVER! I am taking care of my brother's dog while they are away for a couple of years, and she is a barker. Not exactly an unnecessary barker...she normally has reason (a lot of reasons)...car doors shutting outside, people outside, other dogs walking by, etc. So, once she starts barking, so does the doodle! He has no idea what he's barking at...90% of the time he's standing smack dab in the middle of the living room or the yard, just barking because she started too...not focused on anything, typically looking around at nothing. She will stop when told...and he'll just keep going and going. I've done just about everything to get the guy to stop...although, I know my frustration doesn't help the situation, I'm not sure what else to do. I want the quiet, gentle giant back!

When I let my dogs out and I do not go out with them they run around the back yard barking at everything. Then they bark to get back inside. If I go out with them they are quite and do not bark.

I let the dogs out one at a time as the older smaller (Blind) dog thinks he can beat up the younger bigger dog. The blind dachshund also runs thru the yard nose to ground "sounding" the whole way. Unless he knows I am in the yard.

I have a 9 month old Jack Russell that barks when people cross in front of my patio window and when they come into the hall way of my apt. I have tryed to get her attention to something else, but she goes right back to the door. Other tenents say they hear her throught the day. [I work day shift.] So I keep her in the bedroom with her toys, water and some treats.I have tryed spraying her with water and telling her no, which last for about 20 seconds then she barks again. How do I stop her from doing this?

hi I now own two Shih-tzu and one still only 11 months old husky/Sheppard mix. My oldest dog is Miss.Tiki shes been raised with two separate different dogs packs. She started the barking when i was in my marriage and we owned both her and her sister Miss.Patchy gal and a year later purchased a third dog Mr.Magoo. She became the leader and protector and speaker for all of them. You have to understand that this dog is almost human here lol and she does all but talks like one. She squeals on the others and puts the other in their places. Now the main issue is she only barks to let you know something or when you come home or someone comes in the house. So basically annoys the hell out of us. We have tried the snout down head up shhh quite, the touch fast and shhhhhh. We even have tried ignoring the barking but it takes way to long for her to stop I have even tried the spray bottle. The latest is a Pepsi can with 10 pennies in it.That worked for about a wk. now shes immuned to that sound as well. Miss. Tiki barks to tell us what she wants and will not give up until you give her it. IE. her food dish is empty or she wants her blanket fixed, or she wants to be where one of the other dogs are. So as you can see its a real issue of annoyance and frustration.

My 5 year old cavalier, Maggie, starts to back up, breathes heavily and fast, then barks at me. It is usually when she wants a treat, sees her food coming from the pantry, or is just not being the center of attention in a room where my husband and I are just talking. This does not stop. One of our friends can just snap his finger at her and she will stop. I have tried snapping or clapping and saying stop, but the barking is so loud, she doesn't hear my snap.I have tried to walk away into the other room, and this usually works. Sometimes I will not say anything but put her outside for a few minutes, and that will work, but I think that just stopping to give her that attention is what she wants. The bark is high and loud and quite annoying.

Chet, my puppy barks at dogs on TV. I have to change the channel if there's a dog, barking, or someone talking to a dog! Any ideas?

we have a poodle that is 18 months old. he likes barking at dogs and especially street dogs. we have hired a trainer to help fix this problem and it seems working for dogs that we met with leash on and walked by their masters. however, he still barks at street dogs severely and nothing can stop him from that. we've tried to use remote vibrating collar but when he is excited barking, he can't feel the vibration. is there anyway that we can stop him barking at street dogs?
